Making seat belts

i need to learn this skill once and for all…
Making seatbelts for aircraft: i’ve tried with masking tape, but didn’t get a good ‘3D’ look. How do i get the fabric look to it? and how to i make it look relaxed and 3D? how do i make the buckles?

a lot of questions, hope to get some answers

I buy the buckles premade like from Eduard or Verlinden then make my seat belts from heavy foil.

the one and only time i made belts i folded tinfoil four times and then cut to size. i have heard ribbons make good belts also.

One method I have yet to try but have seen it done is to use thin brown paper bag with photo etched buckles. Thats the way I plan to go with my Texans and the Harvard MK IV when I get them finished.
