I finished putting the decals on my Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1 corsair and wanted to
make them look like chipped paint on the real thing…has anyone ever tried this??

Once the decal is set,carefully scrape some of it away.That’s what I did for the orange circle on this B-Wing.Use a setting solution such as micro-sol to soften the decal first.


Once they are dried and cure but before you seal them…you can pick at the with a blade, use a small piece of masking tape, or rub them with a polishing stick to chip and scuff at them. Use a light touch or you won’t have a decal left! Once satisfied with the process seal with a clear coat to protect them.
