hey everyone…I had a quick question…I have a windshield that is cracked for a cadillac, and need to make a new one…any ideas???
Thanks,
Sammy
Maybe a 2 liter plastic bottle with the original as a patern?
You can use a heat gun or a candle to put a permanent bend in a strip of clear acrylic. Once that is done, stick the original windshield to it with double sided tape for a cutting guide. If you don’t want to use heat or fire, a rolling pin might put the arch in the strip of acrylic. If the curves on the edge are too much for simple heat bending, you’ll have to get into sculpting clay that you bake. Whatever it winds up being, you’re most likely gonna have to force it to fit right. You’ll probably have to use slots built in the car body to hold the windshield in place rather than try to glue directly on the acrylic.
Thanks for the ideas…I will try!!!
