Hello I am brand new to modeling. I just inherited a dollhouse with a box of furniture. Now most of the furniture is already assembled by my mother. However she gave me another box full of unopened furniture by Xacto dated 1978. I am wondering should I open these boxes or are they worth something and I should leave them in thier original packaging. Most of the furniture I have duplicates of so I am not missing out on anything in the house. I am more curious to see if there is a market for vintage, unopened, models from a company that is still in business but not the model business. Any suggestions?[?]
Welcome to the FSM Forums [#welcome]. Sorry, but I don’t have a clue on Doll House furniture. Might do a search on eBay & see if anything similar is being sold.
Regards, Rick
Welcome to the forum, sorry I too am not up on doll furniture but Ebay sounds like a good place to start.

Hello Dramqueenie, Welcome to the forum.

[#welcome]to the forums. I’m not into doll houses either, but I would not open any of the packages as that would take away from the value.
[#welcome]Glad you’re here!![#ditto]I wouldn’t open them either. I’m sure there’s a market for them somewhere.
Welcome here! I think you finally found a question to stump the masses! [;)]
----edit----
ok I just got curious and went to ebay and there were about 3 or 4 things related to Xacto furniture. These looked new and the lowest bid I saw was $5.00 on an auction just started… so who knows? hold on to it and I am sure it will be worth something to someone…
You can click the “Completed Items” box for ebay auctions to see how similar items ended. If you get 0 results, you might have rare stuff that could be worth a lot.
Welcome to FSM!
Sorry, nothing to offer on the furniture issue!
