I took a bunch of photos at McClellan of the MAFFS base, they are at the link below. For C-130 nuts mostly, but it is one of the best opportunities I’ve had to get operational as opposed to airshow crowd photos. Lots of grunts and tugs to flesh out the airplane pictures! Here’s the link:
Thanks for the photos, I was a C-130 mechanic at Pope AFB “Flying Tigers” in the mid 90s. They are an incredible aircraft.
I remember my first day of tech school, walked into the hanger for the first time and was staring face to face with a C model (3 blade prop). I thought to myself what had I gotten into? What an ugly plane. My attitude changed as I spent more time on them.
I witnessed one bird get rammed in the tail by an F-16 on approach, and keep flying.
