Maddog Manufacturing Back Into Braille Heavy Metal

That’s right, after fighting with prop plane models that keep losing the propellers; I felt it was time to get back into the dirt and start building some Heavy Metal!

I started out with PST’s 1/72 scale ISU 122S. I didn’t even know I had this; I found it when I was cleaning the hobby room.

Here it is with the lower hull and the running gear all assembled. The top hull is test fit on the lower hull for this pic. I’ll be assembling the link and length tracks later.

Second of all, I have started Dragon’s 1/72 scale Stug IV Early for a Group Build on the LEM. Here is my progress to date:

This is a clean build that is really fun to do. I can’t wait to install the new style tracks to this!

I’ve also cracked open and started Dragon’s 1/72 scale Hornisse, 1/72 scale Nashorn, and their 1/72 scale E100, as well as some not-so-heavy metal in the form of Academy’s 1/72 scale WC-51 ambulance. I didn’t get any pics because I barely got anything done on them. Certainly nothing worth shooting and posting here.

In time, I’ll have enough done to post pics of all of them. Until then, comments are welcome!

glad to see you back duke! looking foreward to some info on that academy ambulance. I saw it the other day and I am wondering about it.

Thanks Reb!

So far, the Academy Ambulance is a sweet kit. I’ve been waiting for this one to come out in 1/72 scale for a long time! I’ve gotten the chassis done only, my attempt to go further was stymied by a lost part. One nice touch: it has a complete engine that you build and mount on the frame! I haven’t started the tractor yet; I was gonna build the ambulance first. I’ll try to have pics up later. I am also going to buy three more of this kit!

I’m glad you like what you see Reb, I’ll try to get some pics up of the ambulance as soon as I can. Thanks for stopping in.

Looks like youve got a good start. I come to look foward to see your Brailscale kits. Someday I’m going to try the smaller scales.

I knew you’d come out of that cave with a bunch of new projects Mark! As always, you’re a styrene building madman. Note: I’m going to be attending the OrangeCon05 convention in Oct. so, I’m hoping to get to meet you and Jeff, (Woodbeck3) up there in Anahiem. I’m hoping to enter my “Dragon Wagon” project if I can get it completed in time. Regardless I’m looking forward to seeing you guys. Semper Fi, Mike

Looks great Mr. Maddog. [tup] I know the Dragon StuG kit fits together like a watch but hows the fit of the rear plate on the PST ISU 122S. Just wondering because the PST kits are notorious for that in my experience.

Some nice builds coming together Duke. Looking forward to more.

Looking great Duke, I too am looking forward to some shots of the Academy ambulance. Keep em coming !! [tup]

Matthew, Thank you! I appreciate hearing that from you. That is great! I’ll have a few more pics hopefully this weekend for you.

tigerman, razordws, thanks for checing out my work. I’ll do my best to keep production going. This week at work has been quite interesting to say the least!

Mike, Thanks man, I try! I’ll be looking forward to seeing you there at Orangecon. I plan on working the event so I’ll be there most of the day, but I may have to leave early due to my new job scaring people at Knott’s Scary Farm in October. I’m gonna try to get out of that day though.

Thanks I-beam. I haven’t had much proiblem iin most cases with the rear plate on any of my PST kits. On this one, I have found that it seems to be off by half a mm to one side. However, it isn’t much and can be easily fixed in this case. I’ll try to get a couple pics for you to show you… This one feels like it’s going to more or less fall together; although I am a bit dissapointed that they didn’t provide a means to allow the gun to elevate. I coulda scratched a method in, but I was working fast and just glued it into place.

Thanks again everyone for the great comments! Keep watching, I’ll have more coming this weekend!
