:exploding_head: what an awesome effect from the textured foil! Filing that away for future use…

The beauty of foil is that it is scale thickness for taps and canvas, stays put however you shape it, it takes glue well and it isn’t as easy to damage as some methods such as white glue soaked tissue. There are many sources (chip dip, cereal containers, sour cream, Pringles, etc) with different patterns as well. Some have a nice weaved pattern some have are sort of embossed and some perfectly smooth.
Fine weave from sour creme or cereal

Fine squiggly embossed from pudding cups

Vault Boy is a great addition

More on him to come. Sort of skipped ahead with that picture.

The car was pretty dirty by this point.

First layer of dirt on interior and chassis. Looks more intense in the pictures than it actually is. Golden Brown craft acrylic and My Hobby tan pigments. This will get toned down a bit in the next step but the colour is very close to the picture.

The car is coming along great. One of my favorite movies.

Her’s another. It is a file on Cults 3D. If you have teh ability to print it, or know someone. It looks pretty nice. There are also dog files on there that will work.

It may be too late, but there are accessories fior the car there too.

Thanks! It is too late for the car BUT that printed body from the first movie interests me greatly. I would love to do the Interceptor before it got all beat up and altered.
If the figure I ordered doesn’t show up I will just alter a figure I already have. Carve off a sleeve, add a shoulder pad, some doodads and a leg brace and bingo Motor Mechanic #1 becomes Max. Dog is easy to find in scale in kids toy packages.

And then I thought I was done! Took a bunch of pictures.

Who can see what very important feature of this car is missing?

Looks great. I love the weathering.

I’ll take a swing. Are the switch plate and shotgun up under the rear bumper/frame?

That’s kind of where I was heading with it, booby trap mechanism and wiring to the tanks. Also I’m pretty sure is was a machete tucked under there, not a shotgun. :+1:. Or maybe you’re referring to the can of Dinky Dee dog food and can opener……

Well done all around. Turned out fantastic. I especially like the weathering overall, but the detail like the rustiness on the roll bring it up that extra notch.

Bomb is there. It is a machete but I didn’t include that.

What is missing is one of the defining exterior features of the car. That I didn’t believe I could miss and think I was done.

I have the can and decal for it but I plan to have that with the figure when I finally either get one or make one.

Sidepipes!!

Looks like you added them.

BINGO!

Model was on the shelf and I was cleaning up the bench, about to throw away the sprue and …

Now with exhaust!

Nice and dirty with burnt sooty tips and a bit of oil blow by shown by staining the sides of the car at the pipes.

That’s it for now.

It looks perfect now. Great job. Can’t wait to see it with a Max figure and the dog. Hmmm, did the dog have a name??

Yes.
It was Dog. Max wasn’t in the mood for thinking really hard.

Yup, Dog.
