Me too, but I started suggesting dates and they kept getting pushed back. You and some others had said no to October 31, and others had said no to earlier dates. So November 14 it is! (I’d love to do it August 29, but I think I’d be the only one building if I did.)
i have reviewed it and found this:
some people were complaining that it was in the middle of football season, so i got put off till oct 31, then somepeople complained that it was on halloween, then somehow it ended up on nov. 14
may i ask why it is always on sunday?
I kind of like the single vehicle option like MTD. Your call though.
Actually, it was more complicated then that. I suggested September, some said that school starts then. So I suggested sometime in October, but some said that it shouldn’t ber too close to Mad Fokker day. So I suggested October 31, and some (including you) said that that’s Halloween. November 7 is too close to the US election day (it’s going to be a pretty heated election here in the US, so I want to give it a week or two to die down),
So November 14 it is, or we will be arguing about the date until Judgment Day. And then it will be too late. [:p]
Well, if we are doing 24 hour building, it obviously has to be either Saturday or Sunday.
And Saturdays are generally busier for people who have families. Many people use Sunday to relax – it’s traditionally the (Christian) sabbath.
I think the variety will be fun for a change. Maybe we can all keep what we are building a secret until the day. It’d be interesting to see what kits people choose.
I’m going to bow out on this one…the more I think on it, the more I realize that I’m going to have my hands full. November is the Battle of the Bulge GB and I don’t want to get involved in more than one build (even a 24hour Mad Build) at the same time. Will spectate though and enjoy the progress/results as they come in. [:D]
On the other hand, we are now entering the hallowed time known as “Football Season”, so Sundays may disadvanatgeous. I’m not right now sure about this 24 hour build or Mad Fokker Day although both are intriguing. In spite of my sarcastic comments to the contrary, I actually got quite a kick out of Mad Tiger Day. Like Tigerman, my kits are piling up around me, so I think My participation in any 24 hour mad build would be first contingent on clearing away the Sherman and at least one other mid-construction project. The second contingent would be the football schedule to consider. Perhaps if the rules might be realxed to allow football junkies to build in a different local time zone. Without a map handy, I can’t be sure, but possibly a T-34 built in Kursk local time might be workable!
Count me in Larry, oops had to edit this one as I was stuck on stupid and didnt realise what I wrote sorry about that Larry guess I gotta think of something else but Im still in.
My wife and I may be in the midst of a move back east, but if not, count me in! This will be great 'cause now I have an excuse to expand my model collection back into 1/72nd scale…
Ok, guys, so November 14 it is.
I’ve done some nosing around amongst the Braille cogniscienti, and they mostly all say that the Revell Cromwell is flat-out the best injection molded kit of an Allied tank in 1/72nd.
Glad it’s going ahead, Larry.
Hey Larry I would just like to thank you for not putting it on a School day and I will be in on this one.
Edited the build description to suggest that we keep our kit selection to ourselves until we start building. Should be interesting to see what people choose …
Like that idea larry…
I got the kit I am going to use for Mad Allied Day – but I ain’t tellin’ what it is!
