M60A1 barrel question

I am building the Academy M60A1 Marines w/ Rise/Passive armor. I sanded the barrel up all nice and then went to get part D43, the barrel tip only to find it was not on the sprue. It also is not in the box. Does any company make an aluminum barrel for the M60 so I could replace the whole barrel? Or alternately, has anyone build this kit and replace the kit barrel and could spare part D43? I would send an SASE if that is a possibility. Problem seems to be I cannot find any AM barrels for this so far, making both my options remote.

Barrel Depot makes an M68 105mm barrel, make sure you do not get the one for the M60A3. The A3 barrel has a thermal shroud that the A1 did not use. You can also find someone who built the Tamiya M60A3 kit. It came with both the A3 and A1 barrel. Also the Tamiya USMC M60A1 w/ERA came with both barrels, but someone may have built that kit as an A3 as well.

I’m sure I have an old A1 barrel kicking around somewhere.

Thanks, Rob. That is very good news. I just spent the last 30 minutes going thru the sweeper bag, thinking (hoping) that I would come across it. No luck (although I did find a Sherman towing shackle that I didn’t know I lost). Doesn’t look like Greatmodels has it in stock, so I am going to look at hometown and modelpoint. If you have an extra tip you can spare, I would really appreciate it. Saves me some money. If you do, aside from the SASE let me know if you want anything for it

model point doesn’t appear to stock them and Hometown is out. I emailed Hometown hobbies to see if they could get one in, if I need one.

This is the one, correct?

Also, I sent an email to MRC/Academy to inquire about getting a replacement. Too much time, money and AM stuff involved to give up now!
