Here she is, just finished her today. It’s a late war, in Germany one… Got some figs to paint up and the dio will be all set. The pics for that will come later. Anyway it’s pretty much an OOB build, needed a break from my labour intensive Challenger II. The only AM on it is the Caliber .45 cupola to replace the melted one I got from Dragon. Here she is… Comments welcome
Great work! [tup]
Great Job [tup]
very nice James the colour of that mud is quite perfect i love it the shades work very well what did you use?
thanks for the comments guys, Biffa, the mud is a cheaper, but better quality (in my mind) pigment powder by a company called Bragdon pigments. I used paint thinner that was a little blackened and did a wash with the basic brown colour, and while that was drying I dabbed on a sandish colour mixed with grey pigments for some “drying” effect. I wanted to show the attempts by the crew to cover up the stars on the tank. That’s really all I did, and to “beef” up the texture of the mud, I just added wet layers onto the tank, and when it dried, boom… thicker parts of mud
Looks mighty, James. Looking forward to the dio and your figure work.
Steve
Wow James!
This shermie looks fantastic. I agree with Ron, the effects are dazzling. Can’t wait to see this baby on a base. If it is anything close to your recent IDF stuff, we’re gonna be impressed…(no pressure LOL)…

Good work james, the mud texture and weathering gives it a “rode hard” look for sure. Only thing I would recommend, and it’s a mionor thing, would be to pick out the headlight lenses with some silver to simulate the lens face. [tup]
[:D]nice one james!-- the painted over star on the turret is a nice touch[tup]-- i have read about it ,but never seen it modeled-- super job!— tread[8D]
Looks like crap- just like a tank should. [:D]
Great work on the weathering and painting.
Beautiful…love the dirt. Grant
Hello ,
Nice build , looks great , I like the weathering ! A quick question , any problems with assembling the tracks , or the HVSS suspension? Since I plan to build a Canadian Sherman , in Korea . Thanks to the other modellers in this forum , I was always under the impression that Canadian Sherman’s in Korea were diesels , but really they were gas . So I plan to use a DML M4A3E8 Sherman , to depict a LdSH ( RC ) Sherman in Korea . My first Sherman in ages . Since I am normally too wrapped up with M-1’s , Leopards , and yes the " mighty Cent ’ " , as for WW2 stuff , DML Panther Tanks , and German Halftracks . Thanks , and Happy Modelling !
Frank
" PERSEVERANCE "
thanks for the comments guys, Frank…
No major issues in the build up of this tank, infact it went together like a dream. The suspension is a bit of a nightmare in that they are like 20 parts a piece. Take about 30 mins to put together each one. Tracks went together in a snap.
CDNTanker25,
Looks good. Love the mud. I’d go [tup] [tup] [tup].
