M48A3 Patton questions

Hi I’m in the way to start build a M48A3.

I would do something else than the OD Pattons from Viet Nam. So my questions is.

Did the M48A3 get MERDC scheme before they there retired from service in the US mainland? I suppose that they there in the US mostly after the Viet Nam.

How long did they stay in the inventory before they were put out of service?

And last. Did it serve mainly in the National Guard units during the 70’s?

Most were remanufactured into M48A5s and put into service with the Nation Guard and 2nd ID in Korea in the 1980s.

The Marine Reserve had them in the early 70’s but I believe they were green.
