Just picked this up and am trying to figure out how to do the gun shield cover as described. Is it necessary? If anyone has done this, how did you do it? Also, what color is it when it is done.
Not a necessity, some didn’t have them, but most did. The best way is to use tissue paper and diluted white (Elmer’s) glue. Dampen and lay down the tissue over the wire rib in strips to build up the cover. Once it is complete, let it dry. Once dry, it can be painted a lighter OD or a darker green than the rest of the tank. It was made out of a rubberized canvas. Good luck.
