M4 Sherman Dozer in progress PICS

Nice work ShermanFreak!

Are you intending for the final product to be as you’ve shown it? ie. the turret being lowered/removed by the other tank? Looks like a good ‘scene’. Is there going to be a diorama? What color are your underwear?

Just seeing if you’re paying attention…

M.

Beautifull work Robert…congratulations…

Thank you Tony and Fabio for your very kind words.
Murray - yes I intend on displaying it in more or less that configuration. I’m not sure if it’s lifting it or putting it back … on or the other. No dios for me…I suffer from a serious lack of space but I’ll try for an interesting static display.
Olive Drab … what other colour would I wear???

Speaking of the number of variants, when you get done with army subjects you can switch to the USMC. Have you done a Skink yet?

Skink is on my to-do list Derek. But it looks like I may have to scratchbuild the turret. Only one company produced it in resin and it’s OOP. But approximately 2 weeks after I finish scratchbuilding it, someone will produce it again in resin.

pretty sweet, you gotta be a rich bugger to put that together tho…

Seb

Thanks for the compliment Seb … I’ll be posting the completed pics within the next week. Rich … in many ways but not financially, I build so slow the cost is spread out over a lllooooonnnnnnggggg time.

Wow Robert, I’m left wanting. You are THE Sherman Freak.

That is some outstanding work. It may not be right as mentioned before, but I think the ammo in the turret really looks sharp. It just completes the whole ensemble. The detail and wear inside the hull are the icing on a really big piece of cake.

All that work only to go up in flames after being kissed by an 88…[;)][}:)]

Mike

Wow shermanfreak, just a fantastic job thus far. Somehow I figured you would be capable of doing a fanatstic job, considering the awesome advice you give to tons of modellers (including myslef) here on these forums. I work basically on German Armor, but if I ever decided to be adventerous and do a Sherman, you would be my go to guy. I appreciate the pics, and I think this thread shows how great this hobby is, and how helpful we all can be to each other. Even if it is some good, wholesome constructive critism.

Cheers

Rob

Looking good so far, keep the pics coming!!

Thanks Mike, Rob & Erock … now to get off my butt and get this project finished.

P.S. Mike - Remember - victory goes to the last man standing … Shermans Rule !!!

Really nice work, guy!

The next Bob Collignon!

But wait, your name is Robert, hmmmmm… [:p]

Fade to Black…

NICE work! The interior is right on… funny thing, my wife loves riding in Shermans…too short to drive one though! But she won’t let me buy one either yet. The models are just fine with her.

Ron.

Carry on

tom martell

COOL ! I’m a closet Sherman fanatic thats main focus is on US Marine Corps M4A2s. I have the dozer conversion, can you give me any tips on building the thing ?

Thanks everyone once again for your kind words, sorry Tom, no dios happening here.

crazy_955 - I always spell modelling correctly and armour too! LOL

Mitchell - is it the Verlinden Dozer you have or the Resicast one?

Poniatowski - I bet if you bought it for her, she’d let you take it out for a drive.

This model and the M32 B3 are into their final stages (yes I did get off my butt and got going) and should be ready by the weekend. I’ll post the completed pics then.

Verlinden Dozer Kit.

Mitchell

The Verlinden Dozer kit is one of my favourites by them. It is very well molded and everything goes together quite well. A couple of areas are quite delicate though and you must be careful during assembly. These are the connector points for the hydraulic armour plate. The frame work doesn’t attach by very much and can be damaged quite easily. Final assembly is a bit touchy also with the majority of the weathering needing to be done before finally attaching it to the Sherman. All in all I had a great time building this beast, hope you enjy yours as much.
