M4 Hybrid

I am looking for the best way (in my life that often means least cost) to make the experimental Sherman with the M26 turret. It is my personal belief that this combo would have been the best tank of WWII (Sherman was best anyway, this would have added an AT capability that would have pleased so many that think all tanks of WWII were required to have great AT ability.) I know there is a kit in 1/72 but I’m looking to build it in 1/35. I could swear I’d seen it the combination years ago though I can’t remember where. Does anyone know of the Pershing turret offered seperately?

M4 hull, M26 turret with 90mm gun.

I can’t recall if the turret is offered seperately.

Notice the jeep in the corner. Is that a M-151 prototype?

Well other than you might look for someone with a junked M26 that they’d be willing to give/sell you the turret. That and the Hobbyboss kit used to go on sale a lot at Squadron. I don’t even see it listed on their site now though.

You might want to check ebay for the Dragon M26. I see them fairly often for less then $30.

I seriously doubt that is a 151 prototype. The M151 was a late 50’s/early 60’s design to replace the M38 family. IIRC, the M38 family was of Korean War vintage.

The T26 turret on a M4 hull likely did not survive past the WWII postwar demobilization.

Interesting concept though. And not to far off from what the final Israeli Sherman projects achieved.

This photo is from 1946, or later, presumably at APG, as it shows a Dodge T233 next to the Sherman and a Chrysler T23 4x4 in the right upper corner.
