I was just wondering if the Tamiya M26 Armored Tank Recovery kit is the same as the full Dragon Wagon without the trailer?Can’t talk the wife into the whole thing so thought I might be able to get away with half of it. I am hopeing it is the same superb quality that I have heard about the Wagon ( at least according to Shermanfreak!) and have been eyeballig it for a while at Hobby Lobby and could get it for about $30 or so with the sale. I think I am ready for a build like that.

The kit of just the tractor comes with a couple of extra bits and pieces too that don’t come with the full blown version. You’ll enjoy it.
Yeah grab it. It was oft used without the trailer to drag tanks out of ditches etc. It is a superb kit on it’s own (I have seen one built by a guy in my club) and at that price I am real envious.
Well that settles it then, I’ll just have to get and ask forgiveness when I walk in the door with it. Of coarse I may have to stop by the flower shop too since they also have a King Tiger and Tamiya Bradley with interior that I’ve also been eyeballing. Boy insurance settlement + 50% off at Hobby Lobby in one week sure in sweet deal!
Well I have to admit I am glad y’all talked me into getting this kit. I went and got it today and after opening it up was very excited, especially after digging into the second box inside and seeing all the goodies. This should be a fun build, now if I only knew where to start with this many pieces! Robert , you were right about the winches. There’s more steps for them in the instructions than I have had for full builds before. I’ll post my progress as I build this gem for sure and will most likely have a question or two as well.
Great choice Chris … you’ll really enjoy this build. Biggiest thing to remember is to build this one and paint it in stages, but the kit makes that part easy.

I guess my first question about it after looking through the instructions a bit is that if I wanted to put the figures in it I would have to build the kit around them after a certain point? Either that or open the doors from the best i can tell.
IMO, you’d pretty much have to complete the interior with the figures in and then continue you’re work on the exterior and mask off the open windows while you do it.
guess i’ll have to decide if i’m going to add them then before i start building. Not very good at the figures anyway. Thanks Robert.
You can build the whole kit and do not attach (glue) the upper cab to the lower cab. Just glue the cab rear wall to the rest of the cab and then all the other cab bits. It will slide on and stay in place once completed. This will allow you to add figures and detail the interior after overall painting. I did mine that way without any problems. It can be taken off again later to change if you like as well.

LQ2… Congrats on your purchase… I ran into some of my new club members at HobLob and they had an extra cupon for 50% off… I only went in to buy a little bulb and came out with another M26 Tractor myself and yet another Panther G… Oh well… One of the club guys said it best…(btw I have been labled “the addict”) he said to the other fella who gave me the cupon… “You know what you just did…You just handed a recovering alcoholic a 5th of whisky…”… Yup… That about sums it up…[:D] Can’;t wait to see yours built…

Thanks for pointing that out Gino. I’ll have to give that a try. Great looking one you have there too. I’m not even sure where to start on this thing theres so many parts, but I’m positive that it won’t last just like with every build.
