M1A2 w/TUSK 2 and TWMP

Hey guys!

Was such a configuration in use at any time? I´d love the look of it, that´s why I´m asking

The mine plow is more of an open area/traditional battlefield piece of equipment used to breach minefields whereas the “U” in TUSK stands for urban to give the tank added protection in an urban environment. Plus the TUSK adds a lot of weight to the tank’s suspension and then sticking a mine plow on it further bogs it down. Not saying it is impossible, but not very practical.

I have seen M1A1s w/TUSK 1 and a roller, buy no plows. As Rob said, they were not really used much in and around cities. The plow tanks were used to the west of Baghdad to clear mines and IEDs from the palm groves there. I believe it was around '06 when these pics were taken.

Also, as Rob says, the plow is heavy and may weigh the tank down too much with the TUSK. The roller doesn’t weigh down the tank as much since part of its weight is on the ground, as opposed to the plow which is suspended unless it is in action.

OK thanks Rob and Arty! That´s what I expected more or less, just wanted to be sure
