Amazing how much it hasn’t changed since WW2, still serving.
Actually, the M151 was a totally different vehicle than the WWII Willys MB jeep. It was built by Ford and hasn’t served since the early '90s when they were replaced by the HMMWV.
The only similarities are that they kind of look similar and both had a 4-cylinder engine. The M151 had a unibody (monocoque) structure instead of a separate body and frame, independant 4-wheel suspension, and 24 volt battery system to name a few differences.
