M12 Before Weathering...

This is the Academy kit built strait out of the box exept for the tool tie downs and tow cable (not shown). Also I added some cast texture in places. As i said I can’t decide how to display this. It was built originally as a load for my Dragon Wagon (not yet finnished)

It was painted to this point in a Preshade of black then painted with Tamiya OD mixed with a bit of dark yellow. Then the decals were blended with an overspray of the same mix with a little more yellow.

I am going to use Tamiya Rubber cheveron tracks on it…

Very nice build…

Im looking into getting this kit and have a couple of questions. How did it go together? Where there any major problems with it?

Again nice build.

Matt

very nice build, i cant wait to see it after weathering. im such a fan of that model that i have to get one.

Very nice. In unison with Matt, how did the kit go together, and what’s your general opinion of it? Most Academy kits that I know of come with quite a few extras. What about this one? Any crew, etc?

The kit goes together wonderfully… There are some small fiddley bits with the pullys and such on the spade but other wise its great. There are a ton of extra roadwheels and even an extra bogie unit… or parts of one anyway. Good Interior…(I left mine out to use on another project)… The tracks are the only weak part. They come with the threebar clear tracks that were not to common on this vehicle. I chose to replace mine with the new gluable rubber cheverons out of a Tamiya kit. The kit fits very well.

I highly recommend it… Its an interesting vehicle with a mountain of diorama possiblities…

Looking great, beautyful build.

Looking forward to the weathering.

Excellent build for OOB.

Looking great Kenneth. I can see why you are having second thoughts about just sticking it on the back of the DW.
