M1126 Stryker W.I.P.

This is my Trumpeter M1126 Stryker. I picked this up within a couple of months of it being released. About 2 weeks later, I picked up Strykers PE Detail set for it. I’m not using all of the PE, because some of it just doesn’t fit, some of it the plastic contains more detail, some of it is just too difficult. I will be using about 85% of it though. Here are 3 W.I.P. shots of it. I will try and take a package scan of all the PE frets from the AM set I bought. Anywhere here it is so far.

Whoever said that Trumpeters version was an undetailed hunk of garbage is an idiot. It’s well detailed and goes together quite well. Engraving is also nice and crisp.

Looks like a good quality kit! Although I build 1/48th Armor, I have had my eye on getting either this one or AFV clubs version - maybe when the Mobile Gun System comes out. Will watch eagerly…

The biggest differences are the engineering, and the price. The engineering isn’t better or anything in either kit, just different.

Nice start—are you gonna add the anti-RPG cage around it?

I’ll be watching this build as well, as I have the AFV Club version in my stash. From what I can tell, your kit’s looking pretty good. Enjoy the build. I may have to steal, incorporate, copy, and just “borrow” from what you do, if you don’t mind?! [;)]

I don’t mind at all.

Manny, I was thinking about it, but…

It’s a bit more work then I am looking for, plus I’d have to make other updates, and I just can’t justify the cost of the thing. The PE turret interior from Eduard on my Bradley is giving me fits as it is. Not having the money also kinda puts a damper on it too. Someday I will get it and give it a shot but no time soon. I’ll wait until someone comes out with an interior and do a full detail one.

Looks like a real good start you have going there.

following this one with intrest. i have a 1126 to do. i was going to convert mine into the 1133 mev. but i cant afford the conversion set from real models.
