M-47 muzzle break ?

Hello All,
In the Italeri M-47 kit there is an option for 3 different muzzle breaks. My question is, which is correct for the U.S. version?
Most of the pictures I’ve seen of U.S. tanks seem to show the cylindrical one being used. I’m not sure if the Italeri kit is an early, late or somewhere in between version. Thanks for any and all help.
Regards,
Joe

Italeri kit is a late version, the “T” style is most correct. See below.

I believe the straight end was used on export versions.

i’m gonna havta get that one again. one of the best detailed tanks i ever built, but then italeri is like that

HeavyArty,
Thanks very much. Most of the pictures I’ve seen had the cylindrical break, but as I said I had no idea if they were early or late versions. Did suspect it may have been the T
break because of the pictures of some M-48’s I’ve seen. Although I must admit I’ve seen some early M-48’s with the cylindrical break.
Regards,
Joe

I’ve seen them with either, but the “T” shaped one seems to be more common. That would leave me to believe it’s the later model.

Here is a great site with info on when each type of muzzle break was used.
