M-3 Stuart

Just finished building Academy’s M-3 Stuart and plan on building another one using what I learned from the first build.

In doing research I found two review’s on Academy’s M-3, one say’s measurements are right on, the other review says turret to small and hull is a little short. Third and fourth opinion any one.

The other thing I leaned from this build is do research, the manufacture may not of done theirs.

All ways liked the Stuart but the Caunter scheme has added to the appeal of it.

Post pics and share please. The biggest error that I read about on the M3 kit is that it includes a turret basket, which the M3 did not have. Apparently that was introduced on the M3A1.

Yes, the main error between the two Academy kits are that they tried to compromise between the two variants. The turret basket and interior are correct for the M3A1 but not the M3. Conversely, the rear hull portion is correct for an M3 but not an M3A1. The M3A1 had a curved rear engine portion and not the angled one of the M3.

Having said all that, they build well and look good when completed.

The AFV Club M3A3 is still the best M3 variant out there.
