WOW! This is excellent-looking build, digger! I can’t remember the last M113-based vehicle that we’ve seen here? I’m glad you broughtit out of the GB; I hope more people will do the same!
The model looks great–nice weathering and all around good paint and presentation! I like the look of the tarp too!
Might wanna have some dirt on that fromt plate from crewmen climbing aboard, but it looks fine without it…
Thanks for posting it in the main forums! Urge your GB mates to do the same! [:D]
Sharp looking track their digger![tup] Sent you a PM to give ya some details that you wouldn’t know unless you lived on one. The tracks are spot on color for the motorpool paint shop theme. I like the dry brushing effects as well. Great work![tup]
Hey Digger,
Your M163 looks fantastic! Awesome variant too. The first picture looks like the actual vehicle is bearing down on ya!
Great Work!
great looking build thier digger. after i get thru with my other gb i may bring mine out of the stash and build it.
Your Vulcan looks great! I really like your build and finish on it! If I may add two minor color critiques:1) the water cans of that style are plastic and come in black or tan color in US service; 2) the inboard headlight lenses are black in color, they are the active IR lights.
Hello there man good job[tup] and don’t you all think “Natural light” make a model look even better.[swg]
Very nice. The things I picked up have already been mentioned
The dry brushing is well done but IMO a but heavy…too many scratches. If a vehicle was that scratched, they were usaually given a can of paint and some brushes.
But that aside…very nice
Rounds Complete!!
Looks great. The only think that I seen was the scratches were a bit to much for my taste. Like the one on the right rear. Never caught the problem with the head lights. But you build and the weathering is top notch.
Keep up the great work.
Very nice build! Any 113 based vehicle gets two thumbs up from me anyway. Only ‘issue’ that I have beyond the few mentioned above is that the side skirts are rubber lengths and would not have the same metallic ‘scratching’ that the rest of the vehicle is showing. (Assuming that is what I am seeing in your pics.)
I just got my mittens on an old 1/72 scale M163 kit. 'Nam is my main theme. Any ideas as to what I can replace on the kit to make it look better? I was looking at the minigun and was thinking of either getting the barrel remade with tubing or if I cound just find that damn drill bit from a fiber optic kit I used to have in my pile. Any ideas will be very much welcomed. Of course, I want to get as much info as possible before I get on that train since I just embarked on a gun truck odessy. I do have a few books with M163s, but I want to hear if anybody has any insight as far as modelling these.
Thanx
