M-1 Ford Bomb Service Truck Color

Does anyone know what color a USAAC/AAF M-1 is? Would it be Insignia Yellow, perhaps? Or the same as early USAF AGE equipment? I want to build one from a 1/35 Ford V3000S. I know it isn’t an aircraft or even close to armor, but thought I would try here first.

Sorry, the 1939 T-1 is gloss OD, but the 1941 M-1 is not OD. Check this picture:

The QMC serials are in blue which would make it very hard to see against an OD background as referenced by early US armor.

Notice the chrome hub caps on the one in the picture above. It is the prototype which was used to take the tech manual pictures. The ones purchased for the USAAC were OD. The picture in the link you posted are US Navy vehicles, hence are painted in Navy Gray. The W- numbers confirm this.

You are right. I did find a Life photo of a USAAF one in OD taken Nov. 41 in the Philippines.
