LXG "NAUTILUS" kit...

http://www.hlj.com/product/wavtl-02

Just got the kit in the mail yesterday. The kit itself looks FANTASTIC!.
But no instructions came with the kit.

Anybody else get instructions?

I think I can figure out where everthing goes. But it would be nice to be sure.
Painting tips wouldn’t hurt either. [:I]

How long will the built kit be? I hope you post pics on the forum.

The kit looks very nice but there is just something about seeing it and the name “Nautilus”. Like I said it looks nice but the original just looks better. This is only my opinion and is not intend to upset anyone. I still won’t mind getting the kit.

By “original” I guess you mean the Disney version, which isn’t the first depiction of the the Nautilus.

Right you are, Woody!
As much as I admire the Disney NAUTILUS, it should in no way be considered the “Original”.

Here is the original:

This is the earliest depiction of the NAUTILUS. It may even be contemporary with the original first printing. I seem to recall that Verne or his publisher insisted on having at least some illustrations included to sell the book.

BTW - Crisis averted! [:D]

A fellow modeler on StarshipModelers Forum sent me a link for the instructions that are available online!

Hobby Search Japan has scans of the instructions in their listing of the kit. Go to the URL that features Gundam Etc. under"Others" in the category:Other. It also has scans of the parts themselves."

i was on a real boat named nauilus up north of western austraila in 1987…it was a prawn boat and it sunk…true story… so whatch out man…yeh when finished post piccy…i thought they were hard to get[?] all the best with no intructions …jazz

Did some figuring - just killing time - and this is one HUGE boat!

The model is 43 centimeters long. At 700 scale that comes to 301 meters or 987 feet!

The Disney NAUTILUS is 178 feet long. At 700 scale that is only 8 centimeters!

Verne’s NAUTILUS is at least 70 meters or 230 feet long.
At 700 scale that is only 10 centimeters!
