hey Lufty! That is a neat little trick. Doubling the tape is really the secret! Now I don`t have to make sacrifices to the decal Gods before doing a spinner anymore. By the way, does anyone really know why the Axis forces loved those spinner spirals so much? I read somewhere that Axis pilots believed the spirals would somehow mesmerize the gunners on our bombers causing them to shoot all over the place. What do you all say?

The spiral on German airplane spinners was for friend or foe identification purposes.
Allied airplanes did not have them! When an airplane is coming head on, you cannot see any national insignia. The whirling graphic was the calling card saying, “ME GERMAN & SHOOTING YOU NOW”.
