Luftwaffe paint question

I’m building a 1/72 do-17z. The instruction show a splinter camo scheme. dark green with some darker color over it. revell instructioins don’t have rlm colors, so what RLM should I use? Also, what color should the cokpit be?

Tanky,

For the Battle of Britain period you are building for you will be safe with a splinter pattern of RLM 70/71 with the undersurfaces RLM 65.

For the cockpit I would be guessing at RLM 02 but the Luftwaffe experts could probably tell you better.

Cheers
Darren

According to Swanny’s site, the cockpit should be RLM 02. Have a look at this link for more interior surface colours: http://www.swannysmodels.com/Painting.html

Darren got it right.

The cockpit color should depend on the date the aircraft was manufacuted. My references state that November 1941, all interiors viewable from the cockpit henceforth be painted in black gray RLM 66. Hope this helps a little.

As a matter of interest the RAF Museum (London) suggests it is a very dark grey, inside.

RLM02 Grau or RLM66 Schwarzgrau. Upper surfaces RLM70 Schwarzgrun/RLM71 Dunkelgrun with RLM65 Hellblau. Thats according to everything from my research for a club demo.Allen
