Luft '46 Matchup!!

Hey!
Say its 1946, and the US is trying to stop the latest in German air defense. There are columns of Do-335’s tearing apart the Stratofortress formations, and the Me-262’s are kept busy by the new light P-51’s. Suddenly, a -335 catches fire, its engine cover shearing off as it plummets like a meteor. A group of P-72 Ultrabolts breaks and turns back toward the Germans! Who would win in this encounter?

Someone’s been reading comic books again! [;)]

Fade to Black…

No, overactive imagination!

Sounds like a scene right outta the Luft '46 comix. I wish I knew what happened to all mine. There were some neat ideas in those things for paint schemes. Especially liked the shark-mouthed 262’s…

Fade to Black…

Either that, or he heard about the latest soon to be released free add-on for SDOE [;)]

Are there Luft 46 comics??

BTW the Do 335’s wouldnt be going through Stratofortress formations… thats a B-52. Maybe going through a Superfortress formation though!![:)]

for me i believe the new us fighters win. by now the german production capabilities are nearly at rock bottom and the manpower must be dwindling. really would be an interesting conflict though.

i think the point of these luft '46 ideas is to give the germans an extra year somehow earlier on ie give them 2 1943s if you see what i mean…imagine if they had had time to have thousands of 262s or he162s ready?? not good indeed…thank god for real life!![;)]

Guess those P-80’s they shipped over in late Spring of '45 before the real war was over turned out to be POS.

Doesn’t matter with all those Luft '46 planes flying all over the sky. T-34’s would be romping over the rubbles in Berlin in '46 still.

Gotta admit the Luft '46 scenario just might have happened if Hitler had been smarter and listened to his generals instead of his ego. Thankfully he didn’t.
I’d think that the US fighters would win the day, because it’s an American comic book, isn’t it?

any ideas where one could lay his hands on this comic book??

yeehah12001,

the comic books MIGHT be available at a local comic store… was called “Luftwaffen 1946” is available at http://www.antarctic-press.com/html/series/foaw/issues.htm

Yes, I guess I just like the BUFF so much, it just slips in here and there… You might recognize the B-29 formation from the Ta-183 box if I’m remembering right… I do more Cold War modeling though. So it might be B-35 formations I’m thinking of.
