I just acquired an old model produced by a Japanese company that I’m not familiar with called LS. The model is a 1/72 Mitsubishi KI-109–the late WWII experimental Japanese Army interceptor (an interesting subject, really). Does anyone know anything about this company? Is there anywhere I can get some aftermarket decals for the kit (the originals are toast)? Thanks.
As far as I can remeber, LS is a Japanese company mostly focuses on handguns models. They do have some airplanes made and I saw them in the late 70’s and early 80’s. The standards are roughly close to Hasegawa late 70’s standards or earlier. I suspect if they have any recession lines at all. I have seen a box of Ki-67(Ki-109?) l-o-n-g ago, but the quality seems OK to me. Don’t expect quality to be today Tamigawa standards.
LS was a Japanese company which produced kits from the late 70s to the middle 80s. And like most companies, (even today) their quality varied from kit to kit. When the Ki 109 came out, it was a much better kit than most of the kits other manufacturers had on the market at that time. The only problem that I can remember was that it was closer to 1/74 than 1/72.
