low-vis paint job on cobra

im thinking about building mrc’s supercobra and i want to paint it in a low-vis scheme. Since i dont have an airbrush im going to spray paint most of it, hence the one color scheme. I plan on using model master since i have a bunch of their cans and etc. so i was wondering which color should i use to acheive that gray? Any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Whaz up laxman,
The overall color of the a/c is Light Ghost(Compass) Gray w/ Drk Ghost(Compass) Gray on the upper sections of the fuselage(check w/ references) Cant recall FS #'s right now sorry[:p]
Didn’t Model Master make the above colors in spray can form??
You really dont need a air brush to do this(at least I dont feel)

It would not be very hard to paint the a/c a two tone scheme.
Spray the overall color(Lt Ghost Gray) and than use “non poruse” surgical tape(wide band) and mask off the area(s) that you do not want to get affected by the dk gray. Remember to spray the dk gray in light coats.
This may seem hard but it really aint. O man I kinda went off subject know didn’t I[:0].To answer your question I would use a Light Ghost gray for the overall color if you do not want to do a two scheme job.
Be happy in what ever you do cause the Cobra will turn out fine. Please share some pics w/ us OK.
Flaps up,Mike

Ummm Butz did you mean Gull Grey (light and dark)? I am not familiar with Ghost Grey. Or is that a specific brand’s name for the same color?

Derek,
Ghost greys are Air Force colors … used on the F-15, etc. Gull greys, as I’m sure you know are Naval a/c colors. Wish I could offer suggestions on the Whiskey but I thought I would let you know about the differences…
