Yeah its one of there pre made models with Friulmodel tracks and alum barrels
Not picking up the ball, not even in the same league. These are Franklin Mint style collector items that will invariably show up at contests by the unscrupulous trophy hounds. Instead of marketing these things, they should be upgrading their thity year old molds before re-releasing stuff.
I’d be willing to bet that for what one of those things cost I could buy the next 5 Dragon releases.
All three of you are dead on. After dropping a large chunk of change on the 1/16 M4 I was a little disappointed to find ‘1974’ stamped on the less than detailed hull.
woops, i didn’t see that… [:I], so in other words, Tamiya’s master builders don’t even like the barrels and tracks either, huh??
I didn’t read it too carefully, I had to go do papers before I had to go to work. I just saw it under new releases and those couple things jumped out at me. now looking at it, I don’t see how I missed the rest…[:I]
Yeah, I don’t know what it is about Tamiya recently, but they’ve had practically nothing comming out that interests me, and there is still so much out there that is left to be built.
I saw these at TamiyaCon too. The price tag is outragous, they want about $250 for these “Masterworks” creations. Why anyone would pay that is beyond me.
The outrageous thing is that people ARE putting up that kind of money for these “creations” - otherwise Tamiya wouldn’t be making them. I guess the old saying is true: A fool and his money…are lucky to get together in the first place!
Wow. Does that stuff really happen. That’s pretty low.
Wouldn’t the judges be suspicious if a couple of these tanks turn up in the same camouflage and same decals?
Yeah, that is a joke. I wouldn’t spend that kind of money for a diecast tank. I could buy a slew of kits for that kind of cash, and say I did it myself.
Doesn’t seem like much of a hobby if its all done for you, does it?
