Looks like a poison arrow head to me

Antares 1/48 Gotha P-60A-2. Still has a ways to go but the basic idea is coming together.

Swanny, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. But it sure looks interestin’!! How’d you do the panel lines? Keep us posted.

Where DO you find these very interesting models? Fasnicating plane and looking good.

Nice work on an interesting subject. Looks like the Nazis were delving into stealthy technology with this. Good thing they didn’t have access to the materials science that went into the F-117 and B-2.

Very interesting subject matt. Keep us posted! [tup]

Thanks guys.

Scorpr2, here is the basic process:

1 Preshade with black, dark gray or dark brown.

2 Fill panel areas with top color leaving darkened panel line mostly unpainted.

3 Mist top color over panel lines.

4 Mask for second color.

5 Reapply some dark to the panel lines.

6 Apply second top color in same manner as first.

7 Remove masks (leave clear parts masked until end of process).

8 Seal with clear coat (I like Future) and decal.

9 Apply sludge wash.

10 Seal with dull coat of choice.

11 Apply any chalk effects.

I have yet to work on steps 8 and up on this one. Maybe tomorrow.

Oh, is that all? [:D]

You make it sound so easy.

Well, if I can do it, it can’t be that aweful hard. [:D]

Looks good Matt. A nice canvas for that splinter pattern.

Looking good Matt. The preshading worked out nicely.

Regards, Rick

Neat build, Matt. I was just reading the review on your site last night.

Good start, Matt, Once again…cool subject!

Now that’s a neat looking jet.

#8 sludge wash, I have tried it myself and could not get it right. How do you do it? I’m struggling to add a wash and just can’t seem to get it.

Again fantistic subject.

Roy, the first thing is to have the model sealed with a clear coat. Make your wash from some good artists acrylic paste, water and a drop of liquid dish soap. Brush on, let dry. Fold a piece of cheap paper towel, dampen and press flat. Now gently wipe with the flat, damp paper towel to remove excess. Once everything is done seal with a dull coat. Keep in mind things will darken up a bit when the dull coat goes on.

A stunner on the way, im sure. Ive not seen this beast as well. Interesting, Mr Swann.

Matt,

Very interesting subject and as always impeccable work. Where did the Germans come up with these concepts in 1945?!

This certainly could qualify for the End Game 1946 group build!

Look forward to seeing the finished product.

Tom

It was one of the kits I was considering for the End Game GB but I was not willing to wait until Jan 1 to start building. I’ve had this one under construction for over a month now. Here is what the cockpit looks like …

Was very strange building a cockpit with no seats.

End Game is getting the Me-262 HG III

Matt,

The ME-262 HG III looks very cool. I’m not familiar with this plane. Was it a prototype or concept?

Thanks

Tom

Great work as always Matt. You really seem to find the esoteric stuff.

That is a debatable question. While there is no physical proof that it ever made it to prototype stage there are Ultra decripts that indicate it was built, did fly and suffered a collision on the ground when another aircraft taxied into it. It is entirely possible that it was sitting on a scrape heap after the war and nobody ever recognized it for what it was.
