Hi, Im Rich and Im new here. I build 1/64 scale fire department dozers. I know they are not armor, but looking to you guys for help. All of the dozers I build come with rubber tracks. I have been replacing them with the Classic Armor 1/48 scale tracks. A bit large, but the weathered ones look pretty good on a 1/64 scale dozer. They are easy to cut and splice. The problem is, the source of those Classic Armor pieces has dried up. Now I am looking for suitable replacements. I suppose Corgi armor in 1/50th could work, but looking for a cheaper alternative. Appreciate the advice in advance. Rich

i would think a 1/72 scale track would be closer in size than a 1/48. Whether it looks better to be slightly small or slightly large would be a judgment call for you to make. So far all the 1/72 tanks i have built I have used the kit tracks so I am not sure if there are separate after market tracks available. I have posed that questions in a more specific small scale armor forum. let’s see what comes up as far as an answer.
With the last few years seeing the release of 1/48 vehicles from various manufacturers, notably Tamiya, there are several aftermarket track-sets available in that scale.
Thanks for the speedy replies so far. I did get a Forces of Valor 1/72 scale Bradley. The tracks are a bit too small for what I need. I know the difference in 1/48 to 1/64 is considerable, but those tracks just seem to look good on a 1/64 scale dozer. Not sure why, perhaps tank tracks are smaller than dozer tracks to begin with? I was not aware that there were any aftermarket tracks either, so its been a good day already. Once I figure out photos, I can post what I have done, or perhaps link to my site when I can get a photo or two up. I do like the flexible softer plastic, it helps to add the sag on the dozers.
