If anyone has the old Tamiya M2 kit # 35132, could you tell me the sprue letter and part # (part # should be on last page of instruction sheet) for the sprue of interior parts. I want to see how much it would cost to order a few from Tamiya now that they are reissueing the kit. I will use them as the start of interiors in the M2A2 ODS.
The letter spure letter is D sorry for some reason there is no reorder guide with this kit.guess it is something they didnt think about in 1984. Funny I never even opened thiskit till now.I got instuctions for japanese, should pose interesting.
Thanks, wouldn’t be any chance that you would be building that kit without interior, would there? If so, I can use the interior sprue if you are not. Let me know.
More than likely I wont be using it. I got the kit cause it was cheeeeep. And now the updated kit is out so I just may pick it up. Does the new one not come with interior now?
No, neither new ODS version nor the M2A2 come with an interior. M2 interior can be used as a starting point to build up a new interior for the above two versions.
So they take the interior out and add the U.S equipment set (35266).?
Pretty much. The M2A2 has 1 new sprue for the added armor plates and a few other pieces and the interior sprue removed. For the new M2A2 ODS, it has all the pieces from the M2A2 kit plus one more sprue that has the pieces for the ODS upgrades, figures, and parts from the new accessory set, not the whole set.
Here is the sprue that is added to the M2A2 kit:
Here is the new ODS sprue:
ODS version also comes with new, updated track:
However, as stated before, the interior is also left out of the ODS as well.
If you don’t want the interior, or the whole kit, I will take it off your hands for you.
I think I will hold on to it for now. I will think about the interior though.
If you change your mind, let me know.
I dont know if this helps but here is the # of the spure 35132/0984108.
I was just looking at what I think is yous show case WOW!! but I got a question, on the one titledgoing for a swim is the M1 a dragon kit? I have those tubes that sre on yours along with a few other pieces I have no idea where they go. If it is how do you attach em?
Yes, the Abrams in “Going for a Swim” is the Dragon USMC kit. The tubes are the air intake for the turbine. They attach to the intake grill on the left side of the rear hull, just under the turret rear overhang. On the kit sprue pictured below, there is a long rectangular piece with two circles on it. This part goes over the intake grill and the tubes go onto it. As for the exhaust stack, it mounts on the rear over the middle grill with a square frame and then the upright mounts to it.
Hope that works for you.
THANK YOU!!! I HAVE ASKED IN THE gb m1 FORUM AND NO RESULTS THAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME PEICES THANKS AGAIN sorry about the caps didnt realise they were on… so what is the purpose of them anyway ? amphibious?
You got it, they are used for amphibious ops (from LCAC to shore anyways). They keep the water out of the engine intake and from coming in the ehaust.
I thought so thanks again now I just might have to think of a dio to use them in.
