Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can find Hasegawa kit number HE09288 P-51D?
Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can find Hasegawa kit number HE09288 P-51D?
If it’s the 1/32nd scale series of P-51’s, you can prolly pick one up at Hobby Lobby pretty cheap, about 25.00USD’s i’d say.
It is actually a 1/48 scale kit, the one with decals for Old Crow flown by Bud Anderson. I am attempting to build the ful set of aircraft flown by Anderson. I have an Arii P-51D, and a Tamiya P-51B and decals to build both versions in OD. I now need a kit to build the natural metal version.

As a Plan-B, might I suggest picking up whichever p-51D kit is available to you, and aftermarket decals separately. I am sure the decals are easier to come by than an older kit. Just a suggestion…
Also, to tickle you tastebuds, Accurate Miniatures has just come out with a 1/48 P-39 with optional declas for Mr. Anderson’s Old Crow. It’s a re-box of the Eduard kit, which is a positive thing.
Best of luck.

Well I already have the Super Scale sheet on order and it has decals for the B and D versions. I however want to build ALL THREE. It is my understanding the Buds P-51B was OD, when he first recieved the P-51D that it was OD and that it was later stripped to bare metal. Curious I didnt know Anderson flew a P-39 and none of the reference sites I have viewed mention it.
What are you guys opinions on the Testors P-51D kit with the Old Crow decals?
Here’s where I got my info from. I have the kit pre-ordered…I can’t wait to do the Old Crow version myself.
Go to www.cebudanderson.com for reference information as I found it while poking around a couple of websites in the Reference Materials section.

The Tamiya 1/48 P-51 D kit number 61089*2200 includes decals for Bud Andersons plane. According to the instructions say the markings are for the 357th fighter group in late 1944 serial number 414450. It is painted in Olive drab and grey undersides with invasion stripes on the fuselage. Hope this helps.
