Purchased a Revell F-14D 1:48 Super Tomcat kit today and the seller threw in a Kitech A-10A 1;48 Thunderbolt II KIT.
I’m wanting to get some aftermarket F-14D decals, the kit has VF-31 & VF-124 decals. I would like to use another West Coast decal sheet for it and need a source for 1:48 Navy aircraft decals.
What about this Kitech A-10A kit? Anyone built one?

Mach. I have the same kit and I can tell you of a few online retailers you can find the decals you want for that kit. May take some searching but I am sure you will find what you need.

One thing I would like to warn you about with that kit is that it comes with the F-14A style cockpit. Revell messed this one up and mixed up the cockpits parts of that kit with the F-14B kit, The “B” kit has the "D’ style cockpit. If you need help contacting Revell to get the right parts for the your D kit shoot me a PM and I’ll reply with the kit model # for the “B” kit plus part numbers you will need.

In his defense (which he’s quite capable of mounting himself), well… He’s just being him, not a “forum troll”… You just gotta know his on-line “personality”… When he’s so inclined, and the subject is something he’s interested in, he’s quite informed about the subject at hand, and will help you to the full extent of his resources… He’s also a damned-good modeler…
So, I wouldn’t be so harsh on the guy if I were you… He was just playing… Not trolling… Trolling is, among other things, being deliberlately disruptive in the forums, posting inflamatory subjects; ones that he knows will set others off, and creating chaos and getting others into flame-wars, and then sitting back and watching the show… And generally just being an all 'round azz-hat…

Go to www.ebay.com
Paste this in the search box at top: (1/48, 1:48, 1-48) (f-14, f14, f-14d, f14d)
Right side, top of list, choose Sort by “Price + Shipping, lowest first”
Optionally, left side under “buying formats” choose “Buy it Now” if you need instant gratification.
That should give you quite a few aftermarket decals sheets, among other 1/48 scale F-14 things.
Use Google.com to research the various squadrons. To research specific decal sheets, use Google or http://www.squadron.com/ProfileSearch.asp?Submit3=Go
Hans, I really dont care what he thinks. I know what he is and in my part of the world we refer to it as a " sh!t pot stirrier". That is exactly what manny is, he likes and enjoys creating problems so he can get his jollies at others expense. Anyone that uses insults directed at your family or spouse in my opinion is a LOSER who really has no life away from his computer. You know as well as I do he has done this to many people here who have infact left these forums because of it. He will start something just to get a fight going then play the victim. For someone who claims to be in his 40’s he acts like a pitiful little child here on the forums. As for his modeling I have no doubt he is a good modeler but he takes away from that with his crappy attitude here and much of for no real good reason. I do not like Manny and I am sure there are more than a handful of other here that do not like him as well. To put it bluntly he like a bully in the school yard he wants to push around the smaller kids until someone comes along and busts a baseball bat over his head. He never offers ANYTHING in the way or help or advice to other modelers here other that his one line quips as he so posted here. His post speaks for itself. Manny should have been banned from FSM a long time ago. He is just a useless mass of nothing here taking up space and offering nothing useful to anyone.
This is my first post here in over a year. I only posted to help a fellow modeler and that is more than Manny has ever done for anyone here. I hope he does reply to this then I can sit back and laugh at him for doing so.

Dave, dmk, thanks for the tips on the eBay F-14 link. Worked great and got the decals I was looking for. Will continue to search for more Tomcat goodies. I was in VF-114 Aardvarks from 1975 (F-4J’s) to 1978 (F-14A’s). Always thought the VF-111 Sundowners had the slickest decal scheme, especially on their double nuts A/C.
I was going to reply to Manstein’s Revenge but being a not very often forum member, thought better of it. Looks like I made a good decision. I don’t care what his issues are, I feel his response was not very helpful or enlightening. He and other forum members know what he meant, but as a seldom visiting aircraft forum member, I sure didn’t. As a seldom visiting forum member here on the Aircraft forum, more often on the Auto forum, it left me wondering WTF???
It’s a shame this thread went to hll in a handbasket, but I’ll get over it. [-)] Still would like to know other builders feelings about the 1:48 a-10a Kitech kit quality.
