looking for a U-boat crew in 1/72 scale

I have signed onto the submarine group build, and after thinking on it for most of the afternoon I think what I’d like to do is build a U-Boat heading out to sea or comming back into the pens. Well you almost always think of the crew standing on the deck viewing the well wishers as they leave or return. Any ideas on where to come up with a crew in this scale? Or maybe even a smaller scale, but not so small that I’d need a microscope just to paint them.

Lastly, I have no idea how to makes the boat look as if it’s going thru water. But there’s always a first time! Then just what does one do with a three foot long submarine after it’s finished?

any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

that’s exactly what I’m looking for! I saw two kits in there that will completely fill the bill. Now all I need is the money.

Thats my problem too, one of these 1/72 scale kits sounds like it might be a fun build but what do you do with a 4 foot long sub? (I was looking at the Gato class sub).

I think with my skills the 1/72 would be much easier, but I’m now thinking a water line model is out of the picture.
