I’m looking for the Monogram 1/48 B-24J

Unbuilt but it doesn’t have to be in perfect shape.

I also have a 1/24 Airfix AV-8A ‘new release’ on a ‘certain auction site’ for a buy now at 40.00 bucks! just FYI.

Just keep your eyes open that ‘other auction line’ and you will find a B-24J listed. And for a lot less than $40.00. Maybe for $25.00 incl shipping.

I picked one up on evilbay a few weeks ago for about $26 including the shipping. You just have to keep your eyes open and watch their site like a hawk.

So far my after market list is at about 85.00 bucks! all that for a 20.00 to 30.00 dollar kit…its worth it!

I got a J off eBay for about £15 GBPs, but as it’s OOP, unlike the D version that Revell are currently offering, I think they’re getting rare. I’ve yet to start my J or D, but here’s a suggestion: Buy a D, and get the Koster vacform update, which includes all the turret glass and a new nose for a J (and some other version, the letters of which escape me). Then you just need the Squadron canopies, Flightpath detail set & some 500lb bombs, resin wheels, super detailed .5 cal guns for the side ports & you’re away.

I think the interior will need LOTS of work though, as it’s a little sparse to say the least, and the outside will need re-scribing, as the panel lines are raised. Make that TWICE for me! [BH]
