looking for a 1/72 halifax or lancaster

abrahms , minicraft do a 1/144 scale lancaster , go to www.hannants.co.uk , go on the search in scale tap in 1/144 , on keywords tap in lancaster , bingo costs £3.82 any problems give me a email

the minicraft lanc isn’t supposed to be a good kit at all, so I declined going for it. I’ll be doing the matchbox one in 1/72

Arrow Graphics appears not to have a web site, but I’ve ordered directly from them with no problems, here’s some contact information for you:

Chris,
My local hobby guy has the airfix 1/72 Lancaster and Sterling Short for $30.00 each… If you are looking for something in that scale, you might try Ebay, or I can pick it up for you if you want…

If you’re looking to make the radial engined MK.II as in the picture, I believe Paragon made a 1/72 resin conversion kit to do it a few years back.

I’m not 100% sure of that though.

I remember building the matchbox halifax years ago, if memory serves it was a nice easy build. I’d like to re-visit that kit again, so I’ll be looking for a revell re-issue.

where can I find a good decal sheet with some lettering on it??

also, I cannot find the paragon conversion kit, seems they have gone out of business and their products are hard to find…

Thats Arrow Graphics again. They have several RCAF lettering sheets from various eras including a couple of WWII styles.

Many years ago our hobby shop owner was approached by a gentlemen to see if there was anyone who would build him a model of a Halifax bomber that his brother was shot down in on a raid on Willhelmshavin during WW-2. The owner asked me if I would consider doing it, the gentleman had done some research, and had gotten all the details on the raid from the Public Archives of Canada, aircraft codes and serial # and had picked up a 1/72 kit. I accepted, and I have to say that building that small model was the most rewarding experience in my over 40 years of modeling. The look on his face cannot be described, I had given him back something that he could connect to his lost brother. He offered a fee that I could not accept, that look was payment enough.

The only 1/72 Halifax I’m aware of is the old Airfix kit. I’m not sure of its quality but it dates back to the late 60s I think. I also think the reissued it a few years ago.

there is also an old kit from MATCHBOX in 1/72…

It just arrived today richard!!! thank you!!! great packing job [tup]
