Luke(AFB) Days 20 March 05, don’t know how accurate it is

Great pic of a beautiful aircraft. Thanks for posting.

You are lucky, lucky man.
Coolish! Wish we had more of that stuff at the base up in the Falls…
Another shot of the same airframe can be seen here, circa 1979:

Anyhoo, looks like that F-84 was painted to represent the slot jet as seen in this photo:

Very cool… thanks for the look.
Very nice … thanks for sharing … [swg]
This picture and story just proves … that you just never quite know what will turn up at an airshow … just last year at Air Rendevous in Springfield, IL … I finally got a chance to see a P-38 fly … a real treat … after all these years … [^]
John,
Do you know if that gorgeious thing is flyable or it just a beautiful static display. I seem to recall reading an article about a year ago where someone had a decent looking F-84F airframe that they were going to restore as T-Bird static display. That canopy looks awfully dark for a pilot to see out through.

What a beautiful aircraft, thanks for sharing!
Looks great in those TB markings! Thanks for sharing!
The dark canopy leads me to believe it’s Static, ?, but it sure cuts a stunning image out on the ramp in the sun like that, thanks! [:)]
Take care,
Frank
I don’t know the story about this bird, no signs, etc, just parked on the ramp for viewing, tend to think it is a static a/c. I was suprised to see it there, took the picture about 4:00pm as the show was ending. I know Luke was the original home of the T-birds and they still consider Luke there home base even though they home out of Nellis(quess the do that since all F-16 pilots train at Luke, the only AF base for F-16 training).
Luke is also the T-birds first show of the year.
That picture makes me think about geting out one of my old F-84 kits. Thanks for a great picture…
Now I have to build my Tamiya kit!
