LOOK! I'm DONE!!!! ...well.....kinda...UH1-B

The gloss coats were not heavy enough or the flat OD was just too rough for the gloss coat to be effective so the decals did not adhere 100%…yucky!

But here is some pr-finish shots of my Huey!

great job!!

Great job, Troy! I’ve got a Japanese Ground Self Defence Force Huey in the wings and I’ve found a lot of good info on the Net. Good luck with the rest of the project! - Calvin

Troy,

That’s better! I remember this one now. You had some of the early shots of the interior up on FSM a few months ago. Lookin’ groovy all way 'round, guy! Really sharp!

I started checking out the rest of your site and saw the section devoted to your uncle. I noticed you had a photo of a P-47 that was taken from the right waist. I dunno if anyone’s already given you the lowdown on this Jug but…

It’s a P-47D-15-RE, serial 42-76204. The unit is the 360th FS of the 356th FG. The name of the ship is ‘Bright Eyes’ and it was flown by Lt. Charles Servocky. The aircraft was assigned to the squadron in April of '44 and was struck off charge on October 16th, '44.

Here’s another shot of this Jug:

I’m also looking for more info on “Hell’s Belles”. Any chance I could get a larger scan of the P-47? I collect images of this stuff and this would be a great addition to the collection!

Fade to Black…

Incredible job, Troy! You did a great justice to a mediocre kit. Just proves that there is magic in the world!

GEE! Thanks guys!![:D]

Perfect for this time of year …next I’m going to build a spooky diorama using the Polar Lights HEADLESS HORSEMAN kit…should be fun!

Blackwolf…when I get home from work I can send you a large pic of that P-47…THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I was going to get around to finding some info on that aircraft soon.

Wolf…you have mail!

Troy, really great job on that old kit! I remeber building that one stock when it was new and wishing that I had the skills at the time to make it a better kit. You’ve done that and then some! Congrats.- Ed
