Look at this awesome King Tiger

Found this on ebay–thought it was one of the finest King Tiger builds I’ve seen in a long time…near perfection!

What do you think??

I am Olivgrun with envy…

that’s an amazing result

I think its a tank that is begging for a really great diorama. I like his presentation, too, showing the build in progress and the finished model. Also interesting that he does not appear to use a metal barrel, but it looks great anyway.

Quite a superlative build! I’ve saved every photo to My Pictures.

Yah it is great,

the same one I posted.

Hey, sorry–I hadn’t seen your previous posting of the ebay Tiger–just goes to show that great minds think alike! [:D] I’d been going back to that listing for days.

Still, it’s an excellent build that deserves the extra attention, doesn’t it?

I don’t understand how he can bear to part with such a beautiful tank. I wish I could build one half as nice.

Very beautiful model. Hes got some painting and finishing skills I would like to have. But if I am to pay $180 for model it better be accurate and this one isn’t.
He has the four fuel vent lines which is a November 1944 addition, but he still has zimmerit, which stopped in September 1944. Also a tank with four fuel vent lines wouldn’t have the jack or jack mounts installed anymore. Only the mounts for the jack block would be there but no block.
Its not meant as a bashing of his model, its way better than I could ever do. I would just have expected an accurate model at that price.

yes a nice build to bad that he has it up for sale I agree that it must be hard to part with such a nice build

He got $319.00 USD (395.06) CAD finial bid!!

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly are the “four fuel vent lines” you are referring to? Just curious…thanks!

Well, as long as it looks good, it’s fine by me. And this looks great!

Now that you mention it, though, I wondered about the hole in the skirt as well. Wouldn’t a hit like that have blown the skirt clean off? A hit from a large caliber shell subjects the steel to an incredible amount of kinetic energy. If these things got bumped off by rubbing against a tree, imagine being hit by a 75/76mm gun!

It is a real beautiful build inspite of the inaccurate points that have been made. It also shows some of you guys could get rich with your building skills if you wanted to go that route. Semper Fi, Mike
