"Linking Up" Dio (Lots of Photos)

Ok, I’ll just change it to a non-Holland area, LOL Can’t win 'em all I guess.
I did take a couple of photos with my 35mm camera of initial construction of the house, and somewhere in an old thread here is some in progress shots of the house. One of these years I’ll get a digi camera and start documenting these builds a little more!
Write a book, hmmm…I don’t know, I’m no expert in that field, although I used to do some writing for another website a long time ago. And it may be obvious, and this may get people cringing, but when I set out to do a scene, I practically don’t do any research (ie where units were, what should be on a vehicle, etc) I do look at occasional pics to get some ideas, but most come from my crainium, and when something pops up, I just run with it. I’d much rather build than do months of pre-planning. I come out with both guns blazing, LOL

You’ve done a super job on the Dio, thanks for all the pics…

Superb job, it’s like taking a look back in time. [bow][tup]

World Class my friend, Belongs in a book telling us newbies how to do it. Very, very impressive.

Ted

I was thinking abotu praises and then there were so many so my brain overloaded and then popped

LOL, Jinithith2! I should sit down and do a write up for this beast, I’m sure it would be a few pages long! I changed my plan for the project I’m working on now, it initially was going to be a jagpanther hiding amonst a ruined building, but now I’m gonna do it sitting on the side of the road broken down, and I’ll probably have a Firefly driving past it.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

You read it here first !! Kelly has claimed he will build a gasp[:O] Sherman. Can’t wait to see this one.

I was wondering when I would hear from the peanut gallery Bugsy…LOL Yes folks, it’s known in my part of the woods that I do not build Allied, but I have a couple kits hiding amonst all my German stuff, it’s time to change scenery a bit. BUT, there will still be a German piece in the next dio…hahahha

Great work,congratulations

Pedro

Never tire of your fantastic work. Models, groundwork, etc are just superb.

Thanks Tigerman!
Well was at the club meeting last night, and discovered that I have a casulty. The guy carrying the MG on his shoulder and standing near the stug, somehow the leg rests for the mg broke off, and it looks like the mg is now floating in air. CURSES!!! So now I have to go back and fix that up…GRRRR haha

Man that dio is good! The rubble looks great! I want to do a street fighting dio some time, I’ve got but so much to do, so little time[sigh].

Fantastic work on your diorama, Kelly. That is one of the best I have seen on here… well done.

Regards, Dan

Thanks very much for the compliments Dan, when I finished this one, for a few days I didn’t want anything to do with plastic, or plaster for that matter! LOL But now I’m back in the groove, got my Jagpanther done and the first coat of paint on it, and started some light construction on the Firefly, I’m hoping this next piece isn’t going to be as elaborate…hahaha

Hoohaa,this should be fun!!

You want funny? Already screwed the running gear up on the firefly, which needed major reconstructive surgery to fix, hey and it’s only step 1!..stupid Allied vehicles…see? this is why I don’t do Allied!

How the hell can you screw up the running gear, wait I know, you put them on the wrong sides roit!?! hahahaha! Thought this might be fun, hahahaha!!

Great Dio ! Just wanted to say that type of house could be in holland or could have been especially further inland and also you have incorporated artistic licence good on you !!!
Why are so many modellers hell bent on everything having to be accurate to the last measurement of a belt buckle?!!
Keep up your good work !

Smokin’ awesome, Kelly. I"m going to be tackling a dio soon. It’s going to be a british manor or something of the like. I have some luxury cars from the '30s I want to display in it. Yours is great inspiration…[:D]

I don’t come in to the diorama forum very often but this thread made it worthwhile this time 'round. Super groovy guy! Nice stuff…

Fade to Black…
