lining the plane panels before / after airbrushing

i want to get the same kind of details as on this model.

http://www.tamiya.com/japan/products/list/72plane/html/60764.htm

I was told to look at swanny models but his site is down.

how do i get the details lines on the plane, thinned down paint before / after airbrushing ?

Swanny’s site is working now. Also see MusicCity’s site. Here is a link for panel washes http://www.craigcentral.com/models/wash.asp

Another website to bookmark, it can be your friend too!

i presume you do the line weathering after you finish the last coast of paint. otherwise you spray over the lines. ?!

whats that “Future” stuff for ?

The future is to lay down a gloss coat before you put the decals on. It also helps the wash to flow better and makes it easier to take off than on a flat coat.

Tanky hit the nail on the head… it can become your best modeling friend!!!

It is nothing more than Future acrylic floor polish from the supermarket. It’s about $4 a bottle and one lasts forever. Seals and protects paint, a must for panel lines and other weathering… There’s an article about it on swannys webpage as well.

oops had to put the right URL in… there ya go!!!

thanks guys

the days of removing the base coat while wiping up the panels are over.
