This was the only modern Russian vehicle I ever did in this second go round of
AFV modeling. I decided to build it simply because I`m a builder, not a collector of things old!

Super JOB! Stick with the more “modern” armor please ! ! Need more of those around.
Hi Scorn and thanks, yes I will be posting a few more modern builds on this forum
stuff like a Nam CP, Viet Cong vig, Ford Mutts,Sheridan,Challenger,Desert Storm,
M107,a Scimitar and an m818 desert storm 6x6 wrecker.
Good looking T-55 Russ. You have a knack for producing sharp looking dioramas. Enjoy seeing your work here on the forums. Semper Fi, mike
[:D]Sasd, great work on the dio,the t55 looks right at home there.[:D]
Many thanks for the comments, the idea here was to have the gun barrel pointing over the pre-wall border check point and down the imaginary road. Kind of a threatening posture.
looks good, i like the base
This is a Lindburg kit?You did good, not good -excellent my friend.I have built a few Lindburgs in my day and all they were was a blob of plastic waiting for detail. You have taking a so-so kit and made it look fantastic, great work .Digger
Superb, as always, Sasd! You’re really telling a story there.
I built that same Lindberg kit years and years, and was quite surprised at the quality. Not your standard Lindberg kit!
Here’s a pic of my ancient Lindberg T-55 build (circa 1990, with a Tamiya M1 in the foreground):
I knew nothing back then, so I used a mix of option parts from the kit, ending up with something closer to an Israeli vehicle than anything else.
One Q about your build: why didn’t you use the pre-drilled holes in the hull to “rod-down” the tracks? As I recall, the hull is pre-drilled, and Lindberg even supplied the rods to hold the tracks down in the characteristic “T-55 sag.” For a T-55, “sag is life!” [;)]
No matter though; your build and diorama are stunning nonetheless![:D]
That looks great. Like Mike said, you’ve got a real knack for these. Keep them coming.
