I want to add an xb-70 model to my collection. I don’t have the room or the cash for the 1/72 AMT, so I’m considering the Lindberg 1/180 b-70 as an option. Has anyone here built this kit and what were your opinions of it??
I believe Aurora made a kit of the xb-70 also, since I had one has a child. But my experience with Aurora has been less than stellar…
That XB-70 was certainly not Lindberg’s finest hour.
Very toylike, no surprize as Lindberg is primarily a toy company with models as a secondary thing.
I could really give the kit a good bashing here, but I’ll just say that it doesn’t go together well, doesn’t really capture the look of the real thing when complete and really is more a thing for kit collectors rather than serious builders.
Thanks for the info, upnorth. I think I’ll hold out for the AMT…I could always put it in my office at work, I guess…
I putted together a xb-70 last year, don’t remember who made it. It was a ok kit, I’ll have to look for the instrustion packet.
