Lighting an Enterprise-C

I needed to proof read this a little better, it should have read as follows. Does anybody have any experiance or information on installing lights/LEDs into an Enterprise 1701-C. Magoo

No, sorry. But it shouldn’t be much differant than lighting any other Enterprise should it? I mean it’s a saucer, secondary hull and 2 nacelles. Any of the ship light kits aught to work.

But I would love it if some of you expert light guys would produce a few “Idiots Guide To Lighting” videos on YouTube. Assume I’m 10 years old and talk me through lighting a model.

The “kits” I’ve seen seem to just be the supplies to do it but you still have to know wiring and such.

Or if someone knows of a series of How-To vids that’d be helpful information.

Hey FineScaleModeler… listening? Those’d be great vids to have on your website.

Gerry I agree! I know what I want it to look like but I’m pretty dismal at electronics. The how to knowledge of integrating small flash light/camping fluorescent lamp bulbs/tubes into a circuit with timers and LEDs to achieve a dependable lighting system that will make a realistic starship is almost beyond me. I have no lab scope to test the timer circuits nor do I really understand them. A “how to” for the dullard among use would be great. Someone who has already done a build can always give others a heads up on how to avoid the pit-falls in a build. Magoo

Okay, Magoo - you and I can get on the short bus and ride to special ed in electronics.

You got me started on a search and so far, I have found Model Lighting 101 by FaceModels.

Also Hobby Projecs.com has a tutorials section

I want easy-to-install kits. When I’m hungry I get food to go I don’t cook!

Plug and Play all the way

Garry, thanks for the web site information. I have started to watch “face’s” information already! Magoo
