LifeColor Paints

Hi all, I just recieved some LifeColor sample paints. They are acrylic, but I was told not to thin the paint down with anything but water. Has anyone used these paints before and with what kind of results? Do you use water to thin them, or do you use something else?

Thanks,

Hi,

I’ve used for a long time the Lifecolour brand, and I only thinned them with water, as someone advised me. It’s works very well.

Best regards

HEY,
Is the price a good one?

Well I just sprayed a P51D with this new paint, and I’m quite impressed with how it went on. I have been a faithful Tamiya user, but I like some of the colors these new paints have. The price is right anyway, I can get a 22ml bottle for less than I was paying for the 10ml bottle of Tamiya. You can also buy sets of paint like RAF and so forth. I think I will invest in some.

You can thin them with Tamiya acrylic thinner as an alternative to water.

The Tamiya thinner incorporates a retarder which prevents the paint drying too quickly in, or on the AB.

On a purely personal basis, I have found Gunze acrylics to give a better result than the Lifecolour, but again it’s a matter of preference.
