lets talk Saber Jets

I recently saw photos of Jonnie Johnson’s F86 on the island of Malta, and Eric Hartman’s as well. Can anybody tell me what would be the correct kits to buy? Were the both Canadair or U.S. built?

Bought a F-86F-40 a couple of months ago. Hasegawa 1/48. Best fit of all, but hasegawa is notorious for lousy cockpit detail. Had to buy an True Details aftermarket set. Otherwise, goes together just by shakin…[Y]

There are suttle diferences with the different marks. My was a JASDF version with 6-3 wing and Leading edge slats. The Canadian versions had the hard 6-3 wing and the fence.

I think the Federal Republic of Germany used a Canadair sabre Mk6. So, I think the hard wing version is what you want. [^o)] Hasegawa makes this version, I think its about $50 USD.

Hartmann’s ride was a Canadair Sabre, and if you can find it, Monogram did this one and it includes the"Tulip" markings for JG 2 “Richtoffen” applied to their Sabres after Hartmann took command…

thanks a lot!
