Let's see or hear about your stash

Have you reached out to Tamiya Japan for a replacement sheet?

@Frozin
Yep, I know the feeling.
As an example, I have:
3 x US Aerospace Ground Equipment sets
3 x Aircraft Weapon Loading sets
2 x US Pilot/Ground Crew sets

Anyway, just don’t ask me how much little blue boxes of Veteran Models ship weapon sets I have. I’ve got TONS! But most of it is 1/350 scale and modern US Navy.

@WhatIfRebel, I swear they multiply in the dark……:flushed:

I’m actually surprised I have all those

Keavdog, that’s been in there since 1992. I’ve finally found the goodies needed to start it.

@Tojo72, when I die, my stash will be buried in the pyramid next to me so I can work on it in the afterlife. I just need to find some followers to build the pyramid!

I haven’t since the kit is long out of production. Just going to order an aftermarket sheet from Indycals.

When it comes to model accessories, I guess I live by the phrase “Too much is never enough”. :rofl:
I can’t stand models that look “plain”. I always need to “up gun” my aircraft, ships, or whatever else I have.
So here’s a few pics of other stuff I have in my model stash.

Thats a lot of accessories.

Kidding, I’m loving this thread but I’ve spent quite a bit more than my monthly budget this March because I’ve been given ideas and found deals or hard-to-find model kits. I seriously need to restrict my reading this to no more than once a month!

@GreySnake01
Yep, sure is. Most accessories were bought long, long ago. But whenever I see something in the vendor area at a contest, I try and snatch (buy) it up. :wink:

My grandpa built the FG-1A Corsairs at Goodyear Aircraft Company before enlisting in the Navy, so yeah- Corsairs are my favorite for a reason!

Wow, WhatIfRebel, that is a lot of aftermarket but I agree with you about buying it when you see it because when you do need it, it’s probably not going to be available. What’s your stash/stock of aftermarket decals like?

@MR_TOM_SCHRY
Not very much as far as aftermarket decals. I keep searching vendor areas at contests for modern aircraft, ship, sci-fi, or armor decals. But all anybody seems to carry is WW2 stuff. :frowning: What I did get in past weeks and months is:

Two sheets of these decals below. Somebody was giving them away for free about a year ago. :smiley:

These next decal sheets below I picked up from the 2024 IPMS/USA Nats last year in Madison.

Below: Picked up these also at the IPMS Nats last year to use for a model carrier project.

Below: And found these old decals also at the IPMS Nats last year. Got them for only $5. :grin:

WhatIfRebel, you definitely got some good deals on decals at last year’s nationals. Do you store you extra decals in a zip lock bag and then in a plastic sleeve that goes in a binder like I do?

@MR_TOM_SCHRY

There’s really no need to put my decals in a binder as I really don’t have a lot. I’ll put them in whatever ziploc or other bags I have to protect them. But I just don’t have a large amount of decals that requires me to go out and buy a binder to put them in.

That’s exactly how i do it. Multiple binders to be exact

@MR_TOM_SCHRY I have 4 big binders for decals and instructions. One is for USN, one for USAAC/USAF, one for Britain and sci-fi, one for German, Japanese, Russian, and civilian/real space.

@Aggieman
I’m not sure what to do with all my old instructions. I don’t even have them in binders. I’ve been planning to scan them into my computer, then throw the instruction sheets away. But I haven’t gotten to it yet and been procrastinating.

@WhatIfRebel I have intended to do that as well, but after 30 years, I am starting to think it isn’t going to happen.

WhatIfRebel, I’m in the same situation with saving my instruction sheets. They’re slowing getting to be too much but I want to hang onto them in case I enter a kit in the “Out of Box” category which requires the instructions.
