I am a keen fan of French aircraft and those variants created from those aircraft. Is anyone else out there a buff in this area? I feel alone in this regard and would be eager to hear from other fans of Dassault, Breguet, SNACO, etc…
Don’t feel alone any longer Milan [;)]. I’m sure there’s a few fans of french a/c around here. I forgot who did it, but I remember seeing a 1/48 MS-406 here recently. I’m finishing off a 1/48 Mirage IIIC (sorry, no pics available), and I do like french aircraft in general. So far I have built a Super Etendard and the IIIC mentioned above. My stash currently holds a Mirage IVP, IIIR, 2000N and an Etendard IVP, all in 1/48 scale. Can you tell I’m a Dassault fan?[:D] Oh, and my latest acquisition is a 1/72 Noratlas. Just wish someone would make a kit of the S.O. 8000 Narval…
Well, my favorite modern jet is the Rafale M…(right there with the Su-27 family)
And I have a Leclerc MBT on the workbench right now…(sorry, not an aircraft)
I’m a fan of their WWI and Post WWII airframes … they had sort of a gap in between. But the Neiuports and SPADs are legend and jets like Caravelle, Mirage Super Entendre and Rafael set standards for the world to match. And they look sexy … Mais oui!
I am a fan too, I have always liked the Caudron C.714, I build the Heller model years ago…
If you would like to build the Hawk 75 in French service you can see the walkaround I put up on my website: http://users.pandora.be/Aircraftwalkarounds/introduction.html it contains an extensive walkaround of the restored Hawk 75 owned by the fighter collection and covers nearly all details visible on the aircraft.
A good website for you would be Master194.com.
Language is French but English is OK.A realy helpfull forum. My personal
interest is Aeronavale and Armee de l’air (WW2 to present)also US jets
from the 50’s and 60’s and Soviet aircrafts.
Best regards P Medard
Well, I grew up reading Tanguy et Laverdure, so I have a real soft spot for the aircraft they flew. Beyond that, I really love the lines of the Super Mystere, and I wish someone made a decent 1/72 scale version.
Thanks for the info mate! I’ll be putting that on my shopping list 4 sure. Katombo Artwork, huh? At the very least it will be a surprise what that kit looks like. Maybe a pleasant one. Now let’s hope it’s not 200 Euro’s [xx(].
Here’s the homepage (not very good unfortunately): http://homepage3.nifty.com/AKATOMBO/
The review is from a french modelling magazine, Replic, so it’s not on any website.
I would guess that Akatombo has all of it’s products on it’s website. Maybe this is there first kit?
If you follow some of the squiggly links (a.k.a. Japanese) on Akatombo’s website (see above), you’ll discover a few other aircraft. The pic with the so-8000 also shows a Saab 21. Another link shows a few other aircraft, but 4 all I know these could just be pics of a model show. My knowledge of Japanese (at least in writing) is zero [:(]. There might even be some info on how to order on the website, but I can’t decypher it, and neither can a web translator [banghead]. It’s advertised at 3000 yen. That’s about 22 euro’s in real money. Probably double that including postage… Well beggers can’t be choosers eh?
On the other hand, my French is o.k., so I would be more than happy with the original text from Replic, Remco [tup]. No rush though, I’ll be away till tuesday.
